BELLE PLAGNE
Belle Plagne - 2050 meter high
Winter season: 11 December 2010 – 23 April 2011
The huge La Plagne tourist centre incorporates a total of ten ski resorts rising in tiers up the same side of the Tarentaise Valley; six high mountain resorts (at altitudes of between 1800 and 2100 metres) and four village resorts (at altitudes of between 1250 and 1450 metres).
Perched at an altitude of 2050 metres, the Belle Plagne ski resort offers a very distinctive mountain holiday concept, based on a return to traditional architecture combined with the organisational methods of modern-day tourism.
Here you will stay in a small and friendly mountain village, dotted with large stone-roof, timber-clad chalets, in a calm and non-polluted environment (the resort is a car-free zone).
Belle Plagne enjoys uninterrupted views across the surrounding mountains and valleys, excellent sunshine and, since it is a pedestrian resort, a more restful, quieter and cleaner environment. As all vehicles left in large underground car parks at the start of the holidays, there are no busy streets to walk along. Instead, people get around the village on skiing trails, wooden walkways and staircases.
All in all, Belle Plagne is a safe and friendly resort in a magnificent setting at the heart of the huge Paradiski Ski Area, which links the La Grande Plagne and Les Arcs sectors.
Belle Plagne is well known both in France and internationally, and enjoys a reputation as an unpretentious, family-friendly resort, which is undoubtedly why its guests are so loyal, coming back time and time again.
