Activities for non-skiers

Val Thorens also offers plenty of activities for non-skiers. If you are a keen driver, you might like to try your hands at driving on ice (driving lesson on an approved track) or snowmobiling in the evenings.
Another possibility is the toboggan run, which sets off from the top of the Péclet Funitel (6km long). Sledges and helmets are available for hire at the foot of the slope.

For the non-skier who wants to get away from it all, there are organised snowshoe hikes during which you will discover more of the mountain and the whole of the Belleville Valley (you'll feel like you're in a different world!).

To help you get back into shape gently, the resort has a number of health and well-being centres offering jacuzzis, saunas, steam rooms, UV cabins, massage rooms and facial and bodycare beauty treatments.

Keen walkers will be interested in the beautiful sunny trail, just on the way in to Val Thorens, which leads all the way to Les Menuires and from which there are some superb views.

Every week, there are performances by major artists and a free jazz or classical music concert is held in the Chapel of Val Thorens.

Finally, for fine food lovers, Val Thorens has a number of prestigious restaurants, such as the Oxalys (awarded one star by the Michelin Guide), which is just on the way in to Val Thorens in the Oxalys hotel complex, and La Bouitte in Saint Marcel (awarded two stars by the Michelin Guide).
