Courchevel is an ideal resort for people who wish to get away from it all, enjoy the peace and clean air of the mountain environment and get back into shape gently.
The resort has developed and equipped 13 signposted trails for a total of 17km of recreational walking and snowshoe hikes.
These trails will take you on a tour of discovery through the surrounding mountain villages. From time to time you will come across a bench where you can sit and enjoy the scenery. You might also use certain ski lifts and climb to higher altitudes to enjoy the view and perhaps a meal at one of the high mountain restaurants...
The suggested routes take between an hour and two and a half hours to complete, and their level of difficulty varies. Information and map available at the Tourist Office.
To help you get back into shape gently, the resort has a number of health and well-being centres offering jacuzzis, saunas, steam rooms, UV cabins, massage rooms and facial and body beauty treatments.
Courchevel also organises "Discovery" tours by bus/coach, which leave from Courchevel 1850 and tour the Portes de la Vanoise area (resorts such as Pralognan etc.), other internationally renowned resorts such as Val d'Isère and Chamonix, and even the superb city of Annecy.
Lastly, for fine food lovers, Courchevel has a number of prestigious restaurants, such as the Kilimandjaro (awarded one star by the Michelin Guide) and the Bateau Ivre (awarded two stars by the Michelin Guide). Certain restaurants also organise morning cookery courses between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. (subject to availability).
