The Montagnette Trail

Located in front of the Hameau of Kashmir, facing south, the path starts from the footbridge at the entrance of the Val Thorens resort, in the direction of Les Menuires, to arrive at the first section of the Bruyères cable car. Sunny when the weather allows it, it offers a breathtaking view on the Belleville Valley and on the resorts of Val Thorens and Les Menuires.

This walk lasts 1h30 round trip for 2km and is very accessible. If you wish to stop at the first Montagnette just before going down to the Lac des Echauds, you are free to go further down to admire this superb fishing lake surrounded by the Savoyard mountains. Be careful, you will have to think about going back up and the slope is not the easiest.

You also have the possibility to continue your journey and to go down to the Bruyères area in Les Menuires and to take the free shuttle for your return to Val Thorens.

The 2 Lakes Trail

The trail starts at the Chalet du Cosmojet on the Val Thorens snow front not far from the Chalets Soleil by Montagnettes. You will then take the direction of the Moraine chairlift and follow the Combe de Thorens piste to find the starting point of the Chalet du Cosmojet. This 2.1km round trip walk lasts 1h30 and is easy and accessible to all. Don't hesitate to make a short stop at the Chalet des 2 Lacs to appreciate the 180° panorama of the still snow-covered peaks and the view of the Val Thorens resort from below.

The Navy Trail

Easily and effortlessly accessible by taking the Cascades chairlift right next to the snow front, this magnificent 5 km trail offers a panoramic view of the resort with peaks of over 3000 meters. On your left when you get out of the chairlift, on the north side, facing the south side of the resort, you will take the path which describes a large curve on the left, first facing the Pointe de la Masse and then you will go to the south.

You will reach the Chalet de la Marine then cross the Dalles trail. Following the Tête Ronde lake on the right, you will reach the Chalet de Thorens. The return to the resort will be done by the Flocons trail, crossing the Combe de Thorens trail to come back to the Chalet du Cosmojet.

This walk lasts 2h25 (round trip) or 1h15 of descent if you take the Cascades chairlift (itinerary marked only on the descent) and is 5km long (round trip), but it remains rather easy and accessible to all.

The Moutière Trail

The departure of the trail is also at the Chalet du Cosmojet. You will follow the trail behind the chalet and continue to the right to reach the hillside reservoirs. Then, you will progress on the path to arrive near the trail "Traverses des 2 Lacs" and then to the Chalet des 2 Lacs and the chairlift of the same name. The trail continues downstream from the "Linotte" trail to reach the Moutière plateau with the altisurface and the restaurant of "La Moutière". On the right, you will walk along the Moutière reservoir to admire the view of the Vallée des Belleville.
Beware of the daredevils, this difficult round trip will take 4 hours over 6.1 km.

Bonus: the glacier hike offers you a unique moment at the Thorens pass at 3100 meters of altitude. Discover the peaceful world of glaciers!
