Les Menuires Winter: The family-friendly resort in the 3 Vallées ski area

Les Menuires is located at an altitude of approximately 1,850 meters in the Tarentaise Valley, spanning two main slopes: La Masse and Mont de la Chambre. The resort is part of the 3 Vallées ski area, the largest ski area in the world.

Located just below Val Thorens, the resort remains a family-friendly destination. For those traveling as a couple or with friends, there are also several restaurants, bars, and nightclubs where you can enjoy the après-ski atmosphere.

The Pointe de la Masse, at 2,804 meters, remains one of the most memorable places to ski in the winter. You can reach it via one of the fastest gondolas in France, which climbs 1,000 meters in elevation in just 8 minutes. Up there, the panoramic terrace offers views of the highest peaks in Savoie, with Mont Blanc visible in the distance. It’s a great starting point for relatively quiet slopes, suitable for beginners as well as those simply seeking some peace and quiet.

Our favorite spot is still the Friendly Natural Park, a fun and educational trail that introduces visitors to the flora and fauna of the Vanoise National Park, featuring a slalom course, a picnic area, and activity stations for all ages.

On the other side, the Mont de la Chambre side, the Roc des Trois Marches overlooks the Méribel Valley: a vast area of open slopes, among the sunniest in the 3 Vallées, where the aspect allows you to ski in the sun all day long.

When it comes to thrills, Roc'N'Bob remains a sure bet for young and old alike: a 4-kilometer toboggan run with a 450-meter elevation drop. Speed Mountain, a 1-kilometer rail-based toboggan ride, also lets you adjust your speed to suit your mood, as you navigate turns and descents.
