Hameau du Kashmir
4-Star Hotel and Residence in Val Thorens
Le Hameau du Kashmir
A place where two worlds meet, between the Himalayas and the French Alps
Le Hameau du Kashmir It was inspired by a memory from a trip—a trek in the Kashmir region in the late 1980s—and by this simple insight: certain mountains, even those thousands of kilometers away, evoke the same feelings.
Since 2012, this inspiration has been evident throughout the residence. In the carved wood that warms every space, in the black lunar stone that anchors the spaces in materiality and silence, in the deep colors and soft light that contrast with the vast white expanse of the peaks of Val Thorens. A hint of incense and spices floats discreetly in the air, like an invisible thread stretched between the Alps and the Himalayas.
Located at the foot of the 3 Vallées slopes, le Hameau du Kashmir offers a different way to experience the mountains. It’s a place that combines alpine comfort with a sense of escape, without ever having to choose between the two.

La Table : hearty mountain cuisine, right by the slopes
Right across from the slopes, “ La Table ” is the Kashmir restaurant—the place you head to after a run in the cold, or choose to extend your evening. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner: the cuisine here is hearty, comforting, authentic, and rooted in the local terroir. The panoramic terrace captures the light of the 3 Vallées like nowhere else in Val Thorens.
The Kashmir journal: seasons, materials, and mountain stories
Some journeys are worth writing about. The Kashmir Journal captures the changing seasons, the shifting colors, the morning light on Val Thorens, and the simple gestures of sincere hospitality. Stories of places, food, and life—to recapture the spirit of Kashmir, even far from the mountain peaks.
