Published on October 14, 2022

Tignes is the sports resort par excellence. Its image is linked to its lake, its glacier and its dam. Ideal for intermediate and expert skiers, the resort has excellent infrastructures. With its natural stadium ranging from 1550m to 3456m, the resort is a dream for advanced skiers who can enjoy the Tignes-Val d'Isère domain and its 300 km of slopes. On site, you will experience the great thrill and you will refocus on yourself during your stay.

The Grande Motte glacier is the most emblematic area of Tignes. It is a must for all skiers and snowboarders who slide down the slopes while enjoying a breathtaking panorama. The resort hosts many sporting events and has many off-ski activities. Tignes has diversified and offers a wide range of sports disciplines.

Tignes is divided into several villages but the two main villages are Tignes Le Lac and Tignes Val Claret. It is here that Montagnettes has installed two establishments with direct access to the slopes: le Taos and Ynycio.

Tignes le Lac, where you can find le Taosis the perfect place if you want to combine skiing, shopping and sunbathing on the terrace. You will always find something to do. If on the other hand you are more of a party person, head to Tignes Val Claret, where Ynycio is located and its latino festive restaurant Bazurto. In this area, après-ski goes on until the end of the night. From the ski slopes to the dance floors, there is only one step!

The Tignes-Val d'Isère ski area is 300 km of slopes, 2 glaciers, 10,000 hectares, 76 ski lifts, 2 snowparks, 163 slopes including 21 green, 67 blue, 41 red, 29 black and 5 ski touring trails. Numbers that make your head spin!

The highest point of the Tignes - Val d'Isère ski area and therefore the most important is the Grande Motte glacier. A true emblem of the resort, it can be reached in 7 minutes thanks to the perce-Neige funicular and the cable car. Up there, you will be able to see a lot before you can enjoy all the sensations. Blue, red and black slopes are available to you.

The Génépy slope located in the Grande Motte sector is one of the 67 blue slopes of the domain. It allows you to live a great experience and to cover 16.6 km before reaching Val Claret! You will pass right in front of the new establishment of Montagnettes : Ynycio.

If you prefer to ski in a more wooded environment, go to Les Brévières. Several blue runs such as Colchique or Myrtille await you. For the more experienced skiers, the red runs of Pavot and Chardons will satisfy you.

The area offers many possibilities: from the glaciers that top the resort to the forests of the valley floor, to the powder fields and the off-piste itineraries, you will have the choice.

Tignes is without a doubt the resort that offers the most non-skiing activities. Snow sports can be experienced in many different ways. The most popular activity is snowtubing. After being installed in a buoy, you launch yourself on the slope and reach the maximum 45km/h. An activity to be found day and night in Val Claret. Snowtubing is accessible from 3 years old thanks to a children's slope.

The Snake Gliss allows you to enjoy with your tribe a descent on a sled train. Again, this activity is suitable for everyone. If you're not afraid of the cold, you'll be in the first seat of the sledding train. If you are more cautious, we recommend you to take the last seats.

Who said that mountain biking on snow was impossible? As soon as the ski slopes close, the mountain bikes take over. You go up in the gondola before enjoying a memorable descent on the deserted slopes. All this at sunset.

It's THE place to be this winter in Tignes. The restaurant Bazurto located in Ynyciois the new premium establishment of Montagnettes. Loca ambiance and muy caliente atmosphere are on the program. This winter, Colombia invites itself to Tignes. Bazurto, the sensation of chef Juan Arbelaez, opened in Paris in September 2021, will set up shop on the slopes of Val Claret for the season.

Enjoy an après-ski made in Colombia. Explosive cuisine, colorful dishes to share and a 100% Latino menu will be offered from 5pm until the end of the night for these festive dinners. On the menu: iodized ceviche, generous empanadas, beautiful pieces of Argentinean beef. The chef will honor an experiential cuisine that will reveal all the richness of his South American origins. The Bazurto experience is accompanied by a nice selection of cocktails and spirits typically from there with traditional aguardiente, Cachaça or Pisco.

Another restaurant not to be missed in Tignes is Ursus, which has been awarded a Michelin star. Chef Clément Bouvier has been immersed in gastronomy since his early childhood thanks to his grandparents and parents. After traveling and working near some of the biggest names in cuisine, he opened his own restaurant in November 2017. His cuisine is a tribute to local products. He makes his guests discover all the richness of the Savoyard terroir. An address not to be missed at Tignes Val Claret.
